Terminology and glossaries

The uniform use of language is important, and adds value: depending on your requirements and instructions, Syntax will take care that the use of your company’s terminology and linguistic style ‒ the so-called corporate language ‒ is consistent. The use of translation memory systems (CAT tools) will boost quality, uniformity and efficiency in the translation workflow.

Syntax will assume responsibility for systematically maintaining and safeguarding the corporate language.

In other words, we look after the terminology that’s used in a company. Which is why we will compile comprehensive, clearly structured glossaries incorporating the company’s own special terms and standard wordings for each technical field. The latest versions of these continuously updated documents can be made accessible to all authorized personnel via the Internet, extranet or intranet. Moreover, customers wishing to compile a company glossary themselves can count on our advice and support.

By using translation memory systems (TMS), identical texts only need to be translated once. To increase efficiency and save costs, translations from previous jobs as well as repeated sections will be “recycled”. Use of TMS is especially worthwhile with high-volume texts, and for communications media that come in different versions, are subject to periodical amendment, or have a repetitive nature. Your agreement to the use of TMS will always be sought.
